Rules & Submission Guidelines

•Open to all writers 18 and over.

•Submissions must be received no later than the 20th of each month.

•Screenplays must not have been previously optioned, produced, or purchased prior to submission.

•Screenplays must be original work of applicant(s).

•Feature Length Screenplays should be between 85-120 pages and follow industry standard format ALL submissions should have copyright or be registered with WGA\WGC. - Writers(s) should always retain a copy of original script.

•Winning screenplay submissions written by 2 or more writers require all awards to be divided equally among the writers.

•Screenplays must be in English.

•Entrants must submit a completed entry form containing a Synopsis and Logline, in addition to the $10 fee or $40 for an *Entry with Notes on your script. (PayPal payment required - see entry form page) *Notes will be sent out after the Contest Results have been published.

•Multiple submissions are accepted but each submission requires a separate entry form and fee.

•The-GreenLight.com is not responsible for screenplays lost in cyber space, or stolen. (but if you have paid, and your submission is lost we'll work it out if you can provide the payment details.)

•Judges decisions are final.  

•Electronic submissions only by email containing your script in PDF, RTF, of FDR format. Address email to zero@the-greenlight.com (see entry form page)

•Winners will be announced on the 30th of every month for the previous month. i.e. June winners will be announced on July 30th.

•Prizes may not be substituted unless agreed upon by the writer(s) and the-GreenLight.com.

•Submission of entry form and fees implies explicit  acceptance and consent to the contest rules as listed above.

The Monthly Winner will receive

- Certificate of Achievement

- *Feed back from the Judges based on the following criteria.

• Story and Structure
• Characters and Dialog
• Plot and Marketability

- Dedicated Bio Page and Script Listing on The-GreenLight.com with regular visitors from over 40 countries!

* Only the Monthly Winner and those who have chosen the Entry & Notes option will receive feedback from the judges.

The-GreenLight.com Release Agreement

The submitted screenplay is the sole property of the contestant(s).

You will hold The-GreenLight.com harmless from and defend them against all claims, demands, losses, costs, damages, judgments, liabilities and expenses in connection with any and all claims of third parties based on any scripts or material submitted by you to The-GreenLight.com.

The burden of copywriting or registering your screenplay rests entirely with you.

Contest decisions are final, no guarantee of success has been made, and entry fees are non-refundable.

Substitutions will not be allowed after your screenplay has been submitted.
